Our Customer Challenge
Our customer needed an at-home console that could communicate with an implantable system through the skin. The console had to capture extremely precise signals and maintain stable, two-way communication for both control and telemetry between the external unit and the implanted device
The system also had to work independently in real-world conditions:
- It needed to be robust and “patient-proof,” supporting a wide range of body types and physiologies.
- It had to operate reliably in uncontrolled home environments, not just in ideal lab conditions.
Key Engineering Constraints
The core technical challenge centered on signal integrity and noise:
- Very low signal levels that were difficult to detect and maintain.
- A high-noise environment that made it hard to isolate and stabilize the desired signal.
- The need for repeatable, reliable performance despite these conditions.
