Intelligent Forward and Reverse Logistics for Global Infrastructure at Scale

Streamline the movement, recovery, and redeployment of IT assets with integrated logistics solutions designed for today’s dynamic data center, cloud, and enterprise environments.

Transforming Logistics into a Strategic Advantage

Streamline the movement, recovery, and redeployment of IT assets with intelligent forward and reverse logistics designed for today’s dynamic data center, cloud, and enterprise environments. As infrastructure becomes more distributed and global, secure movement out to users and back again becomes a strategic capability.

Celestica orchestrates global logistics in both directions, connecting decommissioning, asset recovery, and redeployment into a single, visible workflow.

End-to-End Lifecycle Management Services Benefits

Secure Reverse & Forward Logistics

Celestica designs and manages secure logistics flows in both directions, bringing assets back from the field and sending new or replacement equipment out. For reverse logistics, devices are collected from edge locations, offices, and data centers using documented packing, labeling, and shipping procedures, with tracking and chain-of-custody records maintained from pickup through receipt.

For forward logistics, Celestica coordinates outbound shipments so that assets arrive where and when they are needed, in the correct configuration.

By treating forward and reverse movement as one connected system, Celestica reduces complexity across multi-site and global operations. Assets flow efficiently between your environment and our facilities, enabling faster recovery, redeployment, and fulfillment while providing the transparency required to manage large, ongoing programs at scale.

Facility Migration, Deployment & Onsite Services

For large-scale transitions, such as data center exits, fleet refreshes, or new site rollouts, Celestica provides onsite services to manage both de-installation and deployment activities. Teams handle de-racking, packing, labeling, and staging of returning equipment while coordinating arrival, unboxing, and placement of incoming systems according to your project plan and maintenance windows.

Once assets leave or arrive at a facility, they are funneled into Celestica’s structured lifecycle workflows. Returned equipment enters audit, test, and disposition processes, while inbound systems can be staged, validated, and prepared for immediate use. This integrated approach helps organizations execute complex migrations and deployments with minimal disruption.

Global Trade Compliance & Documentation

As assets move in and out of regions, Celestica manages the associated trade and compliance requirements. Import/export controls, customs documentation, and regulatory checks are built into both forward and reverse flows to help ensure equipment can cross borders without unexpected delays or issues.

Standardized paperwork and digital records accompany each shipment, supporting day-to-day logistics, downstream audits, and internal reviews. This reduces manual effort for your teams and provides a clear, verifiable trail of how and where assets have moved over time.

RMA Processing, Asset Preparation & Redeployment

When assets are returned under RMA or removed from service, Celestica receives them into controlled facilities and runs them through structured intake and triage workflows. Each unit is inspected, tested, and classified to determine whether it should be repaired, redeployed, harvested for parts, remarketed, or recycled.

On the forward side, repaired or replacement units are prepared and staged for rapid shipment back into the field, often as part of our Advanced Exchange Program (AEP). This closed-loop connection between RMA processing and outbound fulfillment helps maintain continuity for end users while maximizing the value and useful life of each asset.

Measurable Impact

Celestica services deliver tangible environmental and economic outcomes. For every repurposed server, approximately 42 lb of carbon are kept out of the atmosphere and 1 lb of hazardous materials is diverted from landfills, directly supporting sustainability and regulatory goals.

Operationally, organizations can see up to 30% of all assets received repaired and put back into circulation, eliminating days of shipping lag time through efficient parts replacement and redeployment processes.

Financially, customers maximize the value of every IT asset and extend useful life by up to 2–3 years, improving the return on infrastructure investments.
